Wind Energy in Schleswig-Holstein

By now almost 40% of the electricity consumption in the most northern federal land comes from wind energy. Wind is one of the renewable energy sources with the highest growth potential. Already today Schleswig-Holstein has a global leading position with more than 5,000 employees. The per capita proportion of electricity generated from wind energy is the highest in Schleswig-Holstein. With the extension of wind energy use a further increase of the installed capacity can be expected, especially in the offshore area.
